Bits & Bobs – Privacy Policy

Bits & Bobs is a crafting game for children, made by Theodelia Technologies ("we"). We built it so that it collects nothing about the children who play it.

What we collect

Nothing. The game has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it does not use the internet itself. We never receive names, email addresses, photos, locations, device identifiers or any other information about players.

Game progress

Progress such as crafts, clothes, coins and trophies is saved only on the device. Up to four children can each have their own player, chosen by a picture of their character; the game never asks for their names. If the device's backup is switched on (Android backup or iCloud), the saved game may be included in the family's own backup, which we cannot see. Uninstalling the game deletes the saved game from the device.

Unlock everything (purchase)

The game can be unlocked in full with a one-off purchase, made through Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iPhone) behind a check for grown-ups. The store handles the payment under the parent's own Google or Apple account and that company's privacy policy. The game only asks the store whether the unlock has been bought, and remembers the answer on the device. We do not receive payment details, names or email addresses. Coins, stars, gems and tiaras in the game can't be bought; they are only earned by playing.

Reading aloud

So that children who cannot read yet can play, the game reads its words out loud using the text-to-speech service already installed on the device (for example, Google's Speech Services on Android or Apple's built-in voices on iPhone), which works under that service's own settings. The game only gives it the game's own words, such as "You found a feather!", and never anything about the player. The game does not use the microphone. Reading aloud is off until it is switched on in Settings.

Children's privacy

Because the game collects no personal information, there is nothing for us to share, sell, access, correct or delete. The game does not show ads, open websites or let players talk to anyone, and purchases can only be started by a grown-up.

Changes to this policy

If a future version works differently, we will update this policy before that version is released.
